My passion for health and fitness began at a very young age while playing sports all throughout grade school. The physical, mental and emotional limits I was able to break through as an athlete through intense training and sound nutrition showed me the incredible capacity of the human body to achieve great success in overall fitness and health. I have participated in numerous sports and varying styles of training. From running the 8-mile Turkey Trot in Dallas, TX, to bench pressing nearly 300lbs as a 185lbs amateur bodybuilder, to placing top 3 in a speed-based obstacle course at the Europa Bodybuilding Expo, to earning and training for advanced belts in Mui Thai Kickboxing. Most recently, I have become a Hyrox and Deka/Spartan athlete, involving events that combine full-body functional movements and running as a form of compromised running or fitness racing.
I knew I wanted to pursue a career in health and fitness well before I graduated high school. Since then, I have been following the tried-and-true method of 'finding a way to get paid doing what you love, and you'll never work a day in your life'. I don't just believe but trust that the fitness lifestyle is not exclusive to professional athletes and is instead something anyone can achieve regardless of age. The most common limiting factor is the inability to believe in yourself when attempting to accomplish something you've never done before.
I can relate to all of the negative thoughts, emotions, and situations that can derail anyone's motivation. I have been overweight (>200lbs), underweight (<145lbs), nearly died from substance abuse, endured personal and professional failure, and overcame the immense gravity of depression due to heartbreak and losing loved ones long before their time. Because of my successes and failures, I take great pride in guiding my clients to finding belief within themselves so they too can overcome obstacles and take control of their well-being.
